The idea of creating Fictionophilia had been on my mind for several years, but I never took the leap because it required a lot of courage and careful planning—both of which I felt I lacked at the time. Moreover, I needed to study the market and understand its demands better.
When I finally made the decision to start the website, I spent countless nights brainstorming names. But every idea felt too cliché, overused, and already taken.
Then one evening, while watching a video by the famous Egyptian YouTuber “El-Da7ee7,” he mentioned the term “Fictionophilia.”
The moment I heard it, something clicked. It was a term I’d never encountered before, and its meaning resonated with me deeply.
After researching it further and understanding its unique and rare usage, I knew it was the perfect name for the site. It perfectly matched my love for reading and the idea behind the project.

Fictionophilia is a combination of two words:
Fiction – referring to the literary world of stories and novels.
Philia – a Greek term meaning “love” or “affection.”

Why I Started the Website?
With my experience and long-standing research into the market, I discovered a significant gap between what customers want and what specialized bookstores offer. Not only that, but there are very few services that can source books for customers who want international or hard-to-find titles.
